Day 23 – Full Of Grace And Truth
John 1:14 ESV
Focal Scripture: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
According to Spurgeon: In the Old Testament we see that God dwelt among His chosen people, the Jewish people. What an honor to have the most high God in their tabernacle. When animal sacrifices were made, there He was. After ceremonial cleansing you could go to the tabernacle to be reconciled with God. When Jesus came, He became God’s new tabernacle. This time He was in human form and this time He was accessible to all humankind for all time. While Jewish culture had the law and traditions in Christ we find truth and grace. Let us rejoice in Christ the true tabernacle, dwelling place, of God on Earth.
The Glory Of Christ Beheld -Sermon delivered Oct. 20, 1861
My Thoughts: Many awaited the fulfilment of God’s promise in the Messiah. However, when He finally arrived, few recognized Him. Even today some wonder if He really existed, if He really was who He claimed to be. For those of us that have accepted this as true, we rejoice in communion with God. We rejoice in the freedom from sin and salvation we found in Jesus. He is the Son of Man and the Son of God. What a precious gift we found in Him. The dark cloud of sin oppressing our lives is now lifted. We get to enjoy the fullness of life as we walk with God. In Him we found forgiveness. In Him we have purpose. In Him we have someone who loves us.
Prayer Note:
May we have a spirit of gratitude and thankful for Jesus' sacrifice.
May we persevere in our walk with God.
May our walk with God be filled with joy.
