Day 5 Everlasting Love
Micah 5:2 ESV
Focal Scripture: “But you O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are you too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days”
According to Spuergeon: Jesus rejoiced at your birth. Jesus loved you even before there were any children. He thought about you, loved you, believed in your salvation and was set on accomplishing it. He chose you before the mountains and valleys were formed. He has loved you for so long and will continue to love you. He knows your faults and still loves you. He knew you before you knew who you would be. He wrote about you in His book before you were formed. He knew you would rebel against Him and he loved you still.
The Incarnation and Birth of Christ-Sermon delivered Dec. 23, 1855
My Thoughts: Jesus always knew me. He knew me before He created the world. He thought about me. He loved me. He thought about my salvation and did not stop until He attained it. He wrote my name in the book of life, long before I came to be formed in my mother’s womb.He knew the mistakes I would make and he loved me anyways. He knew I would reject him and He loved me anyway. He never gave up on me. He knew who I would become, before I became that person. He still loves me. I am eternally grateful at God’s immeasurable love and mercy. It was this love and mercy that saved me. When the world could only see my flaws and shortcomings He saw my heart, He saw who I could be in Christ. When I had given up on myself, He never did. There He was by my side, always. When I thought I was all alone, unloved, there He was protecting me, loving me.
